Chapter One

It was the begrning of winter. The sun never stood long enough to dry the wet clothes. Mother usally dries them in home near the fire. I had my dinner and was about to go to bed when mother shouted " Keenai!! Clean those dishes before you go to bed". My younger sister stood there laughing and mocking me. but soon the same voice "Meeraa!!!, you can help Keenai".


The work was less, 3 plates and few spoons and a bowl. I washed them and meeraa dried them and it was over in few minutes.My hands where numbed due to the freezing water. I usally throw out the trash and I didin't mind doing it.

All setteled...I wished my Mother good night, meeraa went to her room as always.   I went upstairs to my room. We had a comfortable house. It was big enough for us. I took the Attic for my self ... Mother didn't like it but later agreed to it since meeraa wanted a room for her self too. My place was good .. no!! it's the best!!! It had a window and shelves and it was my own.

I changed to my sleeping dress and jumped into my warm bed right next to the window. i cleared the moisture over the window and saw the dark sky with brights stars. The sky was clear for a cold night. it was windy though. I lay on my bed and stood watching the sky. i could see the moons creators  clearly. The next day will be the same as today. I kept staring the sky and didn't know when I slept.

For the last 4 months I have been saving money to maintian an Aquarium. Now I am a proud owner of a Aquarium with 8 fishes. It all started when my Dad brought me an  Aquarium Tank..

It was really difficult for me to get the stone and pebbles as for my tank. I needed  around 20-25 kg of them and in the shops you get it for around 10-15 kg per kilo.. Thats is really expensive for a hobby.. but you can always go to AL Rawnaq.. there you get a few decorative stone and wide collection of shell .. its worth buying and its really cheap . Most of my stones & shell come from this place.. I roamed the sea shore of Umm-said and Wakhra, not much help . I just found 10 pebbles and many shells of no good.

They are some good places in Doha to get some wide collection of Tropical Fishes. The ones which I like are form the Al Buhairah at AL Naser Street. and the one near the TV Round about with the name Tropical Fish. They have a wide collection of fishes.

If you are a starter is better to get the cheaper fishes which are around 5 -10 QR each, get a small tank, a filter and air pump. There are a good selection to choose from.

Its better to get to know how to maintain the Aquarium before buying any of expensive ones. Its relaxing and pleasing to watch these Aquatic Creature.
